Episcopal Visitation

Mark Haverland, the Metropolitan and Archbishop of the Anglican Catholic Church and Ordinary of the Diocese of the South performed his annual Episcopal Visitation at St. Benedict’s Anglican Church November 22-23. Archbishop Haverland was accompanied by Canon Matthew Kirby, a visiting clergymen of the ACC from Australia. As part of their visitation, Archbishop Haverland and Canon Kirby were able to join the parish at its new property where we gathered together for a time of fellowship, food, fun, and prayer.

On Sunday, November 23rd, Archbishop Haverland offered a Pontifical Mass at St. Benedicts. As part of the celebration of the Mass, Fr. Nicholas Harrelson baptized Mrs. Emma Penlington. Fr. Nicholas and the whole congregation of St. Benedicts were thrilled to welcome her as the newest member of the Body of Christ. Later in the service, Archbishop Haverland officially received Mr. Austin Oliver, a first-year law student at the University of North Carolina School of Law. The atmosphere at the parish was one of celebration and joy and with good reason! The parish has much to celebrate. It continues to grow steadily in size, its congregants demonstrating growth and maturation in their walk with the Lord, as exhibited by Mrs. Penlington’s baptism, and is continuing to make strides towards its eventual goal of building a new worship space on the property at University Station, Durham.
