Holy Week 2026 was a resounding success at St. Benedict’s Anglican Church! The parish started Holy Week with a bagpipe led procession on Palm Sunday with close to 40 people participating in the walk. This was followed by a well attended service on Maundy Thursday, an overnight vigil at the Altar of Repose which saw individuals and small groups maintaining a constant presence with Our Lord at the Altar of Repose in shifts of two hours. The vigil ended with the noonday Good Friday service.
Lastly, the parish hosted its annual Easter Vigil service which started with the lighting of the New Fire and culminated with a renewal of baptismal vows. Holy Week ended with a special instrumental accompaniment to the Mass on Easter Sunday. The parish hosted both a violinist and a cellist who accompanied our cantors in presenting an uplifting and beautiful mass setting for the congregation. It was truly a spectacular and unique way to ring in the joy that is Our Lord’s Resurrection!
